Interior and exterior decorating for period townhouses, Victorian terraces and modern family homes across Stratford and the surrounding villages.
Stratford covers a lot of ground for a decorator. The centre is full of timber-framed and Georgian buildings, much of it within a conservation area and a good deal of it listed. Move out towards Tiddington, Shottery and Alveston and it shifts to Victorian and Edwardian terraces, then again to post-war and modern estates. The right approach on one is the wrong approach on another.
The older properties are where preparation really shows. Timber framing, sash windows, front doors and porches all need stripping back, filling where the timber has moved and priming correctly before the topcoat — skip that and the finish lifts within a couple of winters. Interiors in these houses tend to have uneven walls, tall ceilings and original mouldings that need cutting in by hand rather than rushed. On a listed building, external colour changes may also need checking with the council first, and it's worth raising that before work is booked in.
Mark Hall has been decorating homes across Worcestershire and into Warwickshire since 1990. Every job is carried out personally — no subcontractors, no rushed finishes, and everything left clean at the end of each day.
